In regards to Framework’s latest footgunning, lemme reiterate two things:
1. Tech is and always has been political. Anyone saying otherwise simply wants to avoid being held accountable for their words and actions.
2. “Big tent” policies do one thing: loudly express that you’re perfectly okay becoming the neighborhood nazi bar.

@jackeric It’s essentially a Popper “Paradox of Tolerance” thing. Fascists and bigots rely on being able to abuse the “big tent” principles in order to infest, disrupt, and dismantle communities.

I can’t remember where I saw this but it’s a great explanation: “if you say you welcome both sheep and wolves you’ll have a tent full of wolves”

@zarfeblong @matt source being findable isn't the same as Open Source. Open Source means you can legally remix and legally sell or give away your new version.
You still can't ship a game called "Zork" (trademarks are still protected), but Open Source means the game and story can be repurposed in whatever way you want...and it means it can live forever, even if the owners of the IP decide it's not worth keeping available and playable on current hardware (which has happened a few times).

@operand @c0dec0dec0de it usually happens when I go to conferences, but I’m not sure if the universe thinks conferences are breaks for me... I went to Web Summit in 2022 and FTX exploded, then I went to SXSW in 2023 and Silicon Valley Bank melted down

Object.assign(styleLink, [style, styleInlineLink]);I believe this JavaScript code results in styleLink being an object that has all the fields of style combined with all the fields of styleInlineLink. In testing it's as if this is not the case. Am I missing something?
