The issue isn't just the CEO. Basically all of management has very little connection to the values the community has. this thing should stop trying to be a company. Transform it into a democratically run collective, have the community pick people to run it.

@tante I figure the bar is being set pretty low at the moment.
To be honest I feel like the sort of job he'd do in his spare time would be better than what we're getting currently. They need management that can get out of the way, so workers can do the job they know how to do.
It could even shift into a worker-run coop/collective like you've suggested, and have someone like him (who understands antitrust and values the web) doing advocacy in a trustworthy way.
