Do you think the web will split? Some kind of low-key, low commercial value network that intentionally drops html, JS, etc, to avoid becoming yet another cloud operating system? Mostly information and media sharing built for easy self hosting.

I suppose I want a quieter instance where I just comment on friends' / contacts' posts.
My Mastodon account can get so noisy, with 100+ mentions some days.
I just want a little quiet corner of the fediverse that's a little bit slower, if it makes sense? And Sharkey is so joyous

The results of yesterday's poll are in: 53% of you voted for #NextCloud – as in: the software I should showcase in my #YunoHost / #selfhosting for newbies step-by-step guide.
I've been self-hosting NextCloud for 4 months now and it has become absolutely essential to me, replacing Dropbox, Google Docs, Google Drive and WeTransfer. But it has so many more capabilities too!
I'm excited to do a show & tell.
