I got myself a recent Google Pixel (ugh) so I could install #GrapheneOS on it (yay).

DeGoogling currently under way, following an excellent video tutorial by Liron Segev (https://lironsegev.com).

@bogo the only challenge was that I didn't correctly re-lock the bootloader so I semi-panicked... but starting from scratch fixed things.

Super super easy to do - if you correctly follow all the steps 😅​

The video tutorial by Liron was FANTASTIC... just a little too fast at times. But all good now!

@jan thanks! the rainbow is basically just stickers... I removed them from my old Macbook Pro (2011), which is on its last legs now 😅​

@elena I’ve recently undertaken the same challenge. So far, I’m having trouble with location services. I want to avoid installing Google Play, but as it stands, most apps can’t seem to get a location lock. I haven’t moved a SIM over yet (waiting on a phone case before fully switching) and I’ve only tried indoors. Hoping one or both of these could be the issue. Have you had any luck with this?

@RadDevon Disclaimer: this is my second phone. But regarding Google Play, you could simply install it on one user profile on Graphene… and not the main one you’ll use. I love how sandboxed it is. Ditto for location services and other settings. Each user profile is like a new phone
