I am experimenting a solution to podcast: @Castopod failed for my self-hosting, every single update gives me errors. So, I decided to install a WP plugin called "Seriously Simple Podcasting"; in theory it works. And in theory flagging the federation on @pfefferle 's ActivityPub plugin it should go to fediverse. So instead of having name at podcasts . plusbrothers . net I could set "podcast at plusbrothers .net" to follow podcast contents from fedi. #WordPress #podcast #fediverse

NodeBB è un a gran figata. Nelle opzioni di configurazione della piattaforma è possibile definire un foglio di stile personalizzato e divertirsi a ridefinire il comportamento dei tag html tramite la sintassi CSS. In questo modo, sapendo cosa modificare, la grafica del sito può essere cambiata e ridefinita. Non è ancora al livello della flessibilità di MovableType, ma si avvicina molto. E' anche possibile inserire javascript in un form che verà eseguito dopo il caricamento della pagina principale.

flaky@furry.engineer I agree, but I don't think it's a conscious choice to favor decentralization over design/UI.
I think what the most likely explanation is, is that those interested in building activitypub applications are highly technical and find the decentralization aspect more alluring than designing good UI.
I know I personally am quite terrible at design.

Right, everyone, I spoke to @seengoals and the two account creation attempts on different friendly servers (https://gaza-verified.org/guide#servers/) was actually him.
He hadn’t realised this was against the rules.
I’ve now asked him if he does actually one to migrate to one of the two servers as it will help us to protect his account better in the future or if he wants to stay on mastodon.social.
I will update both admins with his decision and we’ll sort it out.
(He has to travel for Internet access and it isn’t safe so bear with us.)
For the time being, his only verified account is @seengoals
But it wasn’t the insulin scammer as we previously thought trying to impersonate him :)

gonna have a hot take but decentralisation needs to take much less of a focus in favour of UX if fedi is to actually thrive. I think fedi making decentralisation the main thing while skimping on good UX has hurt it and is part of why it's developed a toxic white angry nerd perception to outsiders (many such cases in FOSS lol, fedi toxicity mainly comes from FOSS hobbyist extremists)
