I must admit that I wasn't a pizza lover when I was a teenager. Maybe it was because I was eating the wrong pizza, or perhaps it was just that it became so precious to me during my university years.
The same goes for coffee: I didn't drink it and then started when I was around 30. I'm still not an avid coffee drinker today, but I do appreciate it.

in high school, i worked at a retirement home operated by the Catholic Church on behalf of the nuns who belong to the Franciscan order. Franciscan nuns are famous for refusing to cloister, instead, choosing to honor their Vow of Service by doing real world jobs that suck and are needed, for little or no pay.
And one of those nurses called me a wuss for putting sugar in coffee...

in high school, i worked at a retirement home operated by the Catholic Church on behalf of the nuns who belong to the Franciscan order. Franciscan nuns are famous for refusing to cloister, instead, choosing to honor their Vow of Service by doing real world jobs that suck and are needed, for little or no pay.
And one of those nurses called me a wuss for putting sugar in coffee...
@stefano ... I replied to the nun, "you don't drink coffee with sugar or cream?" and she looked at me with this incredulous eyebrow raise and withering doubting glare.
she said that she worked 16 hour shifts as a nurse for 40 years, and drank coffee black before it could even cool. she was 102 years old and STILL drinking it that way.
so, at 15 years old, i figured that if SHE could enjoy black coffee, then i could too. :-p
