Watch out for more flight cancellations and delays starting tomorrow.
We suppose that folks with private jets need not worry.

1/nTransportation secretary Sean Duffy has ordered reducing airline traffic by 10% at 40 “high volume markets” starting tomorrow.
The regime prefers playing the blame game and inflicting pain as opposed to actually solving problems.

2/nBesides the 10% reduction in airline traffic, the FAA has restricted commercial space launches and reentries to the hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. local time.
We presume that means reentries that reach the ground. In the US? Does it apply to SpaceX reentries which sometimes reach the ground?
A memo posted by Sec Duffy on X says space launches are prohibited between 11 am and 3 pm UTC, i.e., permitted between 10 am and 6 am EST? Incompetents!

3/n@AkaSci Wow. Well, Starlinks have uncontrolled reentries once or twice a day on average, so good luck controlling that.
Of course, SpaceX said a while ago that they were going to do "semi controlled" reentries of Starlinks over the Pacific Ocean. I have seen absolutely no evidence that they are actually doing this. https://starlink.com/public-files/Starlink_Approach_to_Satellite_Demisability.pdf
They seem to think they have a lot more control than they actually do, and that's the really scary part to me.
