I am having a tricky time with Ubuntu 24. #wayland sometimes seems to deadlock, possibly AMD driver, possibly a Wayland big I hit because I have so many gnome extensions installed. I don't care why, what I wanna know is can I get to a textmode term? In Ubuntu 20 I used to hit Ctrl+alt+f2 but this does not seem to work, or at least not in this situation . Killing gdm process tree without remorse is also ok-- as it is I have to 10-second-hold the power button.

@PsySal does ctrl-alt-F2 work if you hold the FN key?

@aeva I will try that. It's on a desktop box but I do have a "windows" key on my kbd that probably maps. Otherwise I think it might be the driver (going to try an older one)

@PsySal I sometimes have to try a bunch of variations on ctrl, alt, shift, fn, windows key, and various Fnumber keys before I find one that works ;_;
