I use Linux Mint Cinnamon and it's easy to use. When I was looking to switch to Linux lots of people suggested Mint because of it's stability and easy of use. So far I've had very few issues and the ones I did have, I was able to find tutorials on YT or asked on here and received help quickly. -

I actually would use plain debian (personally with KDE) on mine if its hardware isn't extremely new.
I just like how hassle free it goes.
I've got it on a laotp and a desktop, and you can still install a flatpack for a few programs that you need to be extremely up to date while having low maintainance.
I've got some with Manjaro KDE too, they work good too, but it's a tiny bit more to manually maintainance after an upgrade sometimes (seldom)

Mint is just Ubuntu with a custom desktop and installer. Lmde is just debian with the same desktop, installer and snap on top.All software will fail now and then.
Just try troubleshooting.Why is Debian harsh?

@giuseppebilotta @TomF @glyph what I'm planning right now is putting everything into world tiles, and then rather than putting everything into a common world space, go straight to relative coordinates by treating whichever tile the view origin happens to be in as the current origin tile. this adjustment would be done on the CPU, and thus everything on the GPU would just receive a uniform that applies the current tile transform

@aeva @TomF @glyph is this where I mention the int + float option, which is what we did for GPUSPH? ;-)
(We did it for performance reasons because int on GPUs was SLOW at the time, but has the upside of being “library friendly” once you're in relative coordinates, but that may be domain-specific)
