@FediTips You missed my point about Threads. You said you're not telling people what they should do and how they should use the Fediverse.
So I'm asking you to please explain people how to connect with Threads, if you just "advise people." That's advice that's good to know.
I know you won't do it. And that's my point. You present your advice as objective or neutral when they're not.
I'm not saying they should, I'm saying that maybe you should be a bit more upfront about your editorial line.

My entire point for doing all my accounts and sites without pay is to try to fight the hatred.

The reason fascists want platforming is because it works. Every time they get an audience, a certain percentage will believe their hate-filled lies and their following grows.
Fascists need to be deplatformed in every way and at every opportunity. They are not discussing things in good faith, they are spreading hatred against innocent people.

How to block Bluesky from Mastodon:
1. Go to the profile page of the account @bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy
2. Click ⋯
3. Click "Block Domain" to stop seeing Bluesky accounts
4. Click "Block" to prevent your own account being bridged to BlueskyYou may need to copy-paste @bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy into the search box on your server to make the profile appear.
If you can't find the account @bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy, your server is probably already blocking the Bluesky bridge.

This BSKY bridge is an opt in, you need to follow it and then it follows you back to bridge your posts. So blocking it is not really needed.
Btw. if the account already follows you, you can also remove it from your followers list. -

Anyway, how are you deplatforming ICE by blocking the bridge? Could you explain?

The "most blocked accounts" lists on Bluesky are all blocked by only a minority of users. That means most people on Bluesky will be seeing these accounts and the hatred they post.

No, this isn't true at all. All the Trump accounts were all verified at the time they arrrived, and there was an outcry at the time it happened. Bluesky emailed Fox News to welcome JD Vance.

Blocking ICE stops them spreading hatred to your timeline.
Blocking the Bluesky bridge is because people want nothing to do with an organisation that welcomes Trump's lackeys and thugs.

2. The bridge is only opt in for Fedi accounts, it's not opt in for websites. Some of my websites have been bridged by brid.gy without my permission or knowledge.

@exchgr I mean, that is how you can make it produce better than average software. Given its limitations, it's very fast but an average developer at best, giving it clear success criteria is the way to make it produce reliable code. A really extensive test suite is one way to give it clear success criteria across many sessions. Static analysis is another good way to keep the machines honest.
I've come to the conclusion that accountability the model can test itself should be most of your budget.
