On supported phones, you can tap it and have the Alt Text generated locally by your own phone. Itās supposed to help when the original author didnāt set an alt text, so the reader can have an idea of the media contents. To be honest, itās not great - at all - and sometimes it produces some weird stuff. Maybe things will improve, but thatās not much I can do (except using external LLMs, and Iām against this)
