Cathedral of Brasília and it's bell tower, from a trip a little while ago. You wouldn't guess this was a church if you hadn't been told so. (Or you might, there's a huge cross at the top of it and all, but you'd have to admit it's at least an /unconventional/ one)
Conveniently located just outside Brasília's central bus station, it's only a quick walk away from the National Congress and most other buildings housing the bulk of Brasil's federal administration. Actually, the whole region for the Plano Piloto is tiny, I really wasn't expecting that. Frustratingly unwalkable, too.
I've arrived just slightly too late for their visiting hours, but I did get to take a slight glance within: the dimly-filtered light peeking through the stained glass roof onto the circular nave sunk into the ground, with the angel sculptures floating right above the main altar does make for a spectacularly gloomy atmosphere.

That was probably the only half-decent picture I've got from the whole trip. That, and this dreamy-looking shot of the National Museum, which I guess tells you something about my photographic habilities. (To be fair, four hours isn't really enough to see much of anything, though I did try my best to take in as much as I could).
Did I mention that's right beside the Cathedral? I'm still surprised how close together most of this seem to be. Fully expected just wasting most of my time there inside public transportation.
In the end, I wasn't really able to learn much about the place itself, although I did get to see quite a bit. I'd really hope to get the chance to go back there one day, and get to know the city at a slower pace. Brasília is quite the interesting city.
