  • @evdelen 'On June 14, 1727, after harboring ships for more than a century, the Precinct of Cape Cod was incorporated as a township. The name chosen by its inhabitants was "Herringtown", which was rejected by the Massachusetts General Court in favor of "Provincetown".'

    So unfair!

  • Calling for violence and death gets you blocked.

There are a million solutions to every problem, only one of them is violence.

Americans have responded to Trump's tricks and outrages to spur violence brilliantly. From unicorns to millions in the streets.

    Trump killed Good.

    That's our story now.

We have a big struggle, what we're building is civilisation finally.

Lots of peoples are in this.

  • How long has BDS been around? Israel is a much smaller economy and we still haven't been able to forced them to change course.

Focus on your government. Make them change their policies toward the US. Make them invest in renewables. Make them stop buying American weapons. That's what will hurt the US.

  • Hearing people talk about boycotting US products. It's not going to have any impact; you have to dump the laws the US forced on you, like your anti-circumvention law. And break up Apple, Google, and Microsoft. Only action by your government is going to make any difference.

Use a computer? You probably paid multiple US companies for it. Same with your phone. Your country's military probably uses US weapons. And of course oil is a global market; every drop you use benefits the US.

There's no meaningful boycotting of the US as an individual. Force your government to change its policies.

  • Believing in democracy, in ethics and in compassion. Governments and Institutions that grant their support and provide services to every citizen, granting human rights to any person, even non-citizens. Companies that grant sustainable revenue to investors and act as communities with social responsibility on a territory.

That is the manifesto of the new distopian reality.

šŸš‚ Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad No. 643, the sole surviving H-1 class 2-10-4 "Texas" type steam locomotive engine built in 1944 by Lima Locomotive Works. Weighing around 520,000 lb, it is one of the heaviest steam locomotives ever built. Photos from 2018, when it sat #abandoned in an impound. Now it is restored and part of the Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum in Sugarcreek, Ohio.#Photography #Trains #Steam #SteamTrain #Locomotive #Railroad #Restoration #History #Rust

Tech people talk about tech too much. I really really REALLY want to use all the awesome privacy friendly FOSS (and similar) stuff, but I am not a techie person! I don't know how to program, nor do I want to. And every SINGLE time I try to find out even what thing (OS, program, app, service, etc) to use, let alone how, and I search for it... I get techie-focused answers. It's complete gibberish to me! Absolutely useless. It makes me feel actively unwelcome even though I really care about using alternatives to Windows, Meta, X and other dystopic nonsense. For example: I'm like "How do I start a non-enshittified group chat to talk about a thing?" and all the results are technobabble to me. I don't even know if the words they use are supposed to be normal english words or if they refer to orgs or groups or apps or some weird coding wizardry. I am so lost, every single time. I stick with it though. But like. I wonder if the tech people realise that this is happening???? Because they probably understand what they're talking about. And they seem to not realise that not everyone does. I'm not trying to blame or shame anyone or even complaining as such (a little bit complaining, ngl), mostly just giving feedback. This is not an issue with a singe thing but with ALL of it as a whole! Including #GNU #Linux the #Fediverse #Matrix and most #FOSS apps. My sincere wish: Give non-techie people an EASY TO FIND and easy to read and easy to understand and easy to implement guide about how to use the things as an alternative to using big corporation services, ie, "I just want it to work" and not have to worry about the technical side of things. (examples in thread)

Are you in #tech and running your own #Fediverse instance? You might want to join an Activity Pub relay instance! My relay at https://fedi-relay.gyptazy.com has currently 139 instances connected, mostly tech related sharing the same mindset and interests like #Linux, #BSD, #Ansible, #Proxmox, #Coding, and many more! You can easily join from your instance when using #Pleroma, #snac (#snac2), #Mastodon and its forks šŸ™‚#fedi #fediworld #fedicommunity #community #FreeBSD #OpenBSD #NetBSD #homelab #Python #Debian #RockyLinux #Feditips
