Do you celebrate March 14 as Pi Day?
-
@evan No, but I do recognise it as tau/2 day.
-
@evan What I celebrate is any excuse to eat pie
@jimfl I mean, who wouldn't?
-
@evan
Europeans celebrate Pi Day on the 3rd day of Quattuordecember. -

@jargoggles unfortunately the civilizations that used this calendar wouldn't emerge for another 1500 years. π«€ But I bet they made great pies.
-
@evan No, I'm not American and I know how to pronounce Ο.
-
-
@evan every day is pi day if you're not a coward and look deep enough in the decimal expansion
-
Yes, andβ¦ itβs my youngestβs birthday!
-
@evan in all seriousness though I demand photographic proof from those who βcelebrateβ. I need to see party hats and blowers, balloons, rented bouncy castles and clowns, etc. I do not subscribe to the idea that ordering a pizza and having some lemon meringue for dessert constitutes βcelebrationβ. Thatβs just a dressed-up Tuesday night in my books.

@evan Well, obviously I missed my 3:14pm target, but the dessert was Apple Crumble Pie, served with Tahitian Vanilla Ice Cream. There was once piece left over, which I claimed for breakfast today. There was leftover pizza for lunch, so my last three meals have been pie and pie, pie, and pie. #Winning #PiDay

Hey, everyone. Thanks for replying. My answer is Yes. I celebrate Pi Day on 3.14 and Better Pi Day on 22/7. I like celebrating things and I try to find as many special days during the year as possible because it's fun and makes the passage of time more bearable.
I understand that being a curmudgeon about celebrations is fun too, though. I hope everyone who isn't celebrating Pi Day got a chance to enjoy that part.

@evan I always celebrate pi because pi never ends
