VoidLinux to the rescue.
Obviously that LUKS, dracut and bin kernel was a glorious PITA on Gentoo.
But..... VoidLinux has everything I want, a tutorial that actually worked was found quickly and now dwm 6.8, st and dmenu all compiled gloriously. Let the patching begin. Remember, this time I wanted to start from zero, Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow š¤£ so this will have to wait to later in the week. But this feels very appropriate for the ThinkPad. Beer time š» on a job well done š

@superuserdo Oh, and when you want to be one of the really cool kids follow this: https://it-notes.dragas.net/2025/12/22/void-linux-zfs-hibernation-guide/ by @stefano (yes, yes, the bsd.cafe barista) and setup zfs et al, according to this great tutorial. And don't shortcut with the script āŗļø, do it manually, step by step, it is a great learning experience. Used that on my work laptop for two months. Either way, enjoy the Thinkpad!
