Our Friendica is struggling. We get a lot of 502 Bad Gateway (nginx). CPU is at 100% all the time eaten by Friendica. This has happened after the update to the latest Friendica stable. It seems that there are many processes happening in the database. The post-user table has 64,135,238 rows...I suspect this is an issue. I am not sure if Friendica is reindexing or doing something now after the update...But needs investigation...sorry for that..Any tips welcomed!#friendica #fedi #askfedi #fediverse

@TazPoltorak @Bfordham some toy machines cheat by only being able to make a chain stitch instead of the lockstitch used by modern¹ machines: those aren't really sewing machines, they can't be used to follow instructions designed for sewing machines and I'd recommend staying away from them even as a “starting” machine, because they really aren't one.the main issue being that the chain stitch unravels, and using it to make functional garments will require a lot more handsewing and different techniques that those used today.as the first sewing machine ever built, they were time saver when sewing meters and meters of ruffles on a 1850s dress, when you were used to sew 1840s dresses by hand, but really, sewing machine technology has moved on :)¹ i.e. since the second half of the 19th century :D

any networking nerds want to point me at where i might look to diagnose home network sluggishness? basically, i'm getting between 20kB/s and 1MB/s transferring files via rsync over ssh. source (primary driver laptop) and destination (multimedia server) machines are both hard-wired to the same router. maybe i expect too much? was thinking like 50MB/s....mtr results (no idea if this is good, bad, or relevant):Loss%: 0.0%Snt: 10Last: 63.0Avg: 66.2Best: 59.7Wrst: 71.9StDev: 4.1#AskFedi

Has anyone used the #Nextcloud Office app? Is it good for end users? I'm not big on any office applications, so I am a terrible judge. My mom's church (and my mom) have ancient computers that need replacing. I may just try to get them to run something not Microsoft. But I won't push them into Google's open, razor wire clad arms either.I am also evaluating #Libreoffice
