Off topic. Wrt the toot above, I noticed that it was immediately boosted by 2 automated actors. But I only received a 'boosted' notification for one. The boost by @general did not lead to a notification in my #Mastodon web UI.

Perhaps I still got to get used to it, but unwieldy #UX for quoting in #Mastodon.
The boost icon opens a new dropdown menu, with an extra click required, and changing post visibility leads to opening a full configuration dialog you must configure and save.
What are your default preferences wrt quote posts?

@julian possibly, but I was trying to answer to what I thought was Çağan's argument.
It feels to me like there was no confusion about ActivityPub being able to update a preferredUsername, name or any other property of an Actor outside of it's ID.
I was hoping he didn't confuse Mastodon for ActivityPub but maybe I'm wrong. :D

mariusor@metalhead.club might you be conflating username changes and account migrations?
Changing preferredUsername (or maybe it was name, I forget now) is pretty well supported if you're not Mastodon.
