Ultimately, any computer running Microsoft Windows belongs to Microsoft, and in Microsoft's ideal world everyone would pay rent on the use of their operating system and cloud services.

These are not bots in the sense of automated accounts interacting with a platform's API as you would do on Twitter, or even Mastodon, rather, each account is an individual "fediverse object", to simplify a bit.
You couldn't achieve this on Twitter/X, as that's a centralized platform and requires the use of their API, nor Bluesky, as hosting the full infrastructure is too complex and expensive.
