Which of these continents have you visited?
-
@evan None of the above... yet
-
@evan *nodding* Terra Australis
@BathysphereHat this one gets it
-
@David well, there *are* some underlying physical objects that map pretty closely to some continent models.
@evan Indeed, but when we talk about the "continents" in every day language, we don't usually talk about geology.
-
@evan None of those. Just North America, which I don't know if it counts since I live here, and Europe. Oh, and what's the DR and Jamaica considered?
@Fragglemuppet the west indies, or the carribean or north America depending on the context -
This is not an exhaustive list of continents. Please choose responses out of the continents listed.
I am aware of other continents and I omitted them on purpose.
If you know of other continents, please feel free to reply to the poll with the names of those continents if it will make you feel good.
I figured this was just the A list.
-
@evan I'm basing my answer on plate tectonics.
-
You may not believe that one or more of the land masses on this list is a continent. That's OK. There are multiple continent systems and you and I have different ones. The world is complex and minds are diverse. That's good, not bad.
@evan please help us🙏💔

@evan THERE
ARE
FOUR
CONTINENTS -
@evan what I decided from this poll is that there should really be only two continents:
Anartic-America
Australo-Afri-Eurasia -
@evan: I just hope people who've visited Mexico (which is in North America) or any of the seven countries in Central America don't think they visited South America.
-
@evan South America for Wikimania 2009 (Argentina), Africa for Wikimania 2008 (Egypt)
here's hoping for a Wikimania at McMurdo Station
