  • Ah, and we have reached the afternoon... I guess I should try to do some shit today.

    Plans are vaguely:

    β€” get πŸ† πŸ«‘ seeds soaking
β€” make a brunch (black pud, bacon)
β€” sweep/vacuum the garage space Fox is in
    β€” work on Fox
β€” remove front left suspension to assess
β€” same for front right outer CV joint
    β€” remove front exhaust
β€” assess parts needed to fit replacement
    β€” fit the new:
    β€” fuel filter
    β€” engine air filter
    β€” spark plugs
    β€” cabin air filter
    β€” order additional required parts

Probably all or even just part of that is the rest of of the day really.

In the evening: work out my Real Seeds order I've been meaning to do for a month.

So as happens any time I make a todo list, I probably should have called it a todon't list...

    β€” get πŸ† πŸ«‘ seeds soaking

Nope, but I got the seeds I want to soak organised and got the ice tray I used for this cleaned. Kinda as part of this I went on a massive seedy bender culminating in a near-Β£50 Real Seeds order. :-/

β€” make a brunch (black pud, bacon)

    This actually happend, in full.

β€” sweep/vacuum the garage space Fox is in

    This happened.

    β€” work on Fox
    β€” …

Pretty much none of this happened. I didn't even touch the car until well late in the day, after 7pm. I got bolts de-dirted and penetrant sprayed here and there. I realised I needed additional tools to do the job.

    β€” order additional required parts

So nope, didn't do that either as I need to be able to take wheel hubs off to assess what I need.

I did work out for sure that I am best off replacing the whole strut/coil assembly and mount. The loose part on the left is the coil mount bearing. Yikes.

Today? Had coffee and breakfast and its already 11:30! (11:45!!!)

So… we shall see. The extra tools for the car will arrive from Amazon, but it says by-17:30 so… πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ Though there are car things I can do before then. I need to nip up to the farm (storage) and get some extra tools and some old scaff plank, and get the car jacked up higher so I can access the exhaust more easily.

But Sunday should also be allotment day. Even if just to ever so briefly "touch grass". There's plenty to do there of course, and it is a bright if not exactly sunny day. So maybe do a little more than the usual watering and compost wrangling.

But first I am going to get those mixed solanaceae seeds into their chamomile.

    Seeds => Allotment => Farm => Home

Dinner, provisionally, is lamb chops on the BBQ.

Try to be in bed at 21:30 for an early start tomorrow. Zero gym shifts last week :( after a full 4 shifts the week before. Ups and downs!

So this is the third shift to go into the ... hopefully will get into dirt on Monday or Tuesday evening. (I prefer between 24 and 48 hours for the soak.)

A mixed bag tray! All the capsicums for the year I think. For the eggplants I do have one more variety coming in from Real Seeds as they have a skinny one I hope I can replace Hansel-F1 with. Our third year for Cape Gooseberries, maybe we'll actually get ripe fruit this year? Then we have some fill-in chillis, the first four being due to iffy germination their first time around, and I found that Mr Fothergills seed the other day and decided to try some (we have more Padron seeds and a citrussy yellow chilli coming from Real Seeds so not quite finished with chillies yet lol). Then finally the tomatillos... we have been growing them every year for a few years now, we don't use tonnes, but they're a great limited-fuss crop.

After this will come the tomatoes in early March, plus that handful of Real Seeds extras.

Right, that lot is in dirt now... a little later than intended, but should be fine.

I also got 20x Aquadulce Claudia broad bean seeds in, and 4x each cells of 3x types of sunflower.

Plus a small tray of agretti. I've never succesfuly germinated the stuff, probably my last attempt. Not expecting much, especially with seed from last year (amusingly the packet claims a 3 year lifespan on seed, but most online sources basically imply you're lucky to get a year out of it.)

Next up for the chamomile treatment is just three new items from Real Seeds: Diamond Aubergine Eggplant, Padrons, and Lemon Drop chillies. Then a week or two break from that until starting tomoatoes by mid-March.

And that was a very extended WfH day lunch break... so I'll be working until about 8pm tonight I guess! I knew I should have gone for an early start. (WfH day is always a fight between an excuse to sleep in for extra Zs, or an early start for extra productivity... the Zs usually win lol.)
