Well, I still don't get it. A well implemented init-system like that of FreeBSD is:
- Clean
- Flexible
- Way more lightweight
- Works with just shell codeI have written a rc.d init-script for zigbee2mqtt today and honestly? It's not going to be shorter than that. Would chose that instead of systemd! ANY TIME! K.I.S.S.
10 years in and I still don't see a real advantage of monolithic-binary init-systems with static configuration files.

Yeah that's where I was thinking it'd be, like a "piefed_announce" or something.
Man, the "_announce" suffix brings back my mailing list PTSD.

As far as I know, this is the community where it happens so to speak. There is also !piefed_announcements@peertube.wtf where @rimu@piefed.social will post videos showcasing new features. However, not all features have need of a video.

On ActivityPub.Space, I started adding links out to various implementors' development announcements.
I wanted to add one for Piefed, but the only community I know of is this one, piefed_meta. Anyone can post there, so I was wondering if there was a dedicated community just for Piefed announcements.

Il fediverso nasce anche dall’esigenza di piccole comunità queer e neurodivergenti, nonchè alcune categorie fragili (come le persone con disabilità) di creare spazi online sicuri.
Questo è il fediverso. Tanti piccoli spazi sicuri dove le persone non sono esposte ai fascisti di oggi che prendono di mira i più fragili per divertimento.
Se essere fanatici di OpenSource significa proteggere il diritto dei più fragili di poter comunicare liberamente allora io lo sono
