The source code of #PawFed is now available on #Codeberg. PawFed is a federated map for animal welfare: reports come from the #Fediverse via #ActivityPub mentions, and permanent places like shelters and vets are pulled from OpenStreetMap.
A location is not always required: if you have supplies or food to give away and can ship, just say so.
Found an abandoned animal? Just report it.

ok but that's not what the FEP specify. for instance, there is no `PostalAddress` in ActivityStream `location` schema so (as an example) the jsonld validator complain about a missing reference to `addressRegion` (to solve this i'm including the schema.org context -> https://framagit.org/les/gancio/-/merge_requests/179/diffs#942d179729cb047e9b9eb3baaeec7ccb6db7fa51_0_5 but it does not feel right to me)

The IETF Working Group was only fully setup the other week, so you may have missed it.

@sirtao@social.sirtao.it the three general approaches I've seen are:
use a different PDS, relay, and AppView than the Bluesky hosted ones - this is how Blacksky works (and I think wafrn uses its own sidecar PDS along with Blacksky's relay) disregard the AppView layer entirely and just talk to individual PDSes, along with external APIs like https://www.microcosm.blue for reverse lookup - this is how Red Dwarf works just use Bridgy FedMy art gallery app Pandacap (which I really need to make a proper post about at some point) uses #2 to follow people and #3 to post stuff.
