@forestine It feels like the mental health equivalent of "help the blind old lady across the road, without asking if she wanted help or even to get across the road."
For people who want to feel good, like they've Done Something, who don't know/care whether the thing was any good or not.

telling people to 'check on' people with traumatic experiences is also pretty fraught like, do you know what you're doing? or realize the potential in triggering someone further? do you have a plan for that?

'check on survivors right now' is well-meaning but like. what about people who never came forward, people with trauma who don't think they count as survivors, etc etc. you can't really know who has experienced sexual abuse or trauma unless they come forward and get retraumatized in the telling
i don't know if i count as a 'survivor' but i've sure felt triggered for weeks now
