That’s right. Just an idea, that’s supported everywhere except places that want to own the users.

A podcast I did recently about the work I'm doing to create a social network for writers that's built out of the web, all parts replaceable. WordPress had some surprising well-hidden power. I hope people listen, esp people in the WordPress community.

if you ever do please let me know what you think. i don't want to miss that.
@tal -- it was not about you. 🙂
:-)
He’s doing his part. Instead of putting him down, like you are, you should thank him for contributing.
Basically if people want freedom, they have to pay for it. Until that happens the people will keep being owned by billionaires.
It may already be too late, btw. The time to pay for freedom was a while back, but people couldn’t be bothered.
i was at symantec for 6 months in the late 80s. applescript didn't come until much later.
I was looking around at the software you use. really interesting.
i'm doing blogroll stuff myself. I think blogrolls are basically feed readers.
Also I have a news site for WordPress sites.
https://wordpress.feedland.org/
Still looking for more links to wp-related blogs and podcasts.
The full link is in the feed. I bet your software is chopping it off??
I saw that it's an aggregator in the comment at the bottom of the page.
So you must have a way of marking an item as being something you want to appear in your site?
I know what it's like to feel that freak out. I've met Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, had that feeling, it's like "this shouldn't be happening." Must be a dream.
I should have hooked up with the WordPress community a long time ago. That's my feeling. ;-)
thanks for the link!
if you want to point directly to the section you're referencing, here's the link.

The # next to the item is the direct link.
Let the web be the web.
Last week I started a WordPress community news site.
https://wordpress.feedland.org/
There's good flow, but there could be more. If you know of any blogs or news sites with info about WordPress and the community, please post a link below.
i'm really confused, but that's nothing new. ;-)
i just figured since i was cc'd on the announcement and it pertained to RSS that there would be a feed in there somewhere i could brag about.
I do most of my feed reading in FeedLand, of course.
Yes, I know about that, not sure what your new feature does, is it only for connecting with WP’s feed reader?
Yes I know all about that. I’m asking a specific question about the work that Matthias announced earlier.
What should we do?
The elected Democrats swore an oath to follow the constitution, which limits what they can do.
With that constraint there isn’t much they can do other than try to force the Repubs to fo the same.
I keep trying to come up with the answer but it evades me.
@pfefferle — that sounds intriguing, not sure I understand.
Can I get an RSS feed from an ActivityPub account?
For example, my mastodon.social account…
https://mastodon.social/@davew
Is that accessible through RSS?
