The first section at the top explains. I put it at the top hoping people might see it. I think you guys just skimmed it and rushed to write your moderate shitposts.
Any suggestions how I could have made the goal more clear?

It’s not that trivial. The point is we’re using systems like mastodon that omit most of those features, and blogging is missing the good features of twitterlike systems, like masto, Bluesky etc.
You can of course use RSS, but there are other useful transports like websockets.
We can do better than Twitter, Bluesky and Mastodon, by taking the same approach we took with audio in podcasting, with text.
Predictably, it’s called https://textcasting.org.
Tim could you post a screenshot? I’d love to see.
seriously i read this for a few minutes without realizing it was a joke. there was nothing funny about it. it seemed very much like it could be real.
you're right, now that i re-read it.
but it really is an interesting idea. a high level editor tuned up to work with wikipedia.
what's an example of a wiki editor?
I make incredibly good oatmeal.
I add the following:
1. chopped walnuts
2. honey
3. cinnamon
4. salt
5. butter
6. raisins
7. chopped fresh fruit depending on what's good
cook for five minutes in microwave.
stir and let cool off a bit
now i have had a lot of practice, that makes a difference! 🙂
here's a side-project we might work on. writing up what a *good* RSS feed coming from a social network would look like.
they all seem to rush through it and often leave out one crucial bit. if we just wrote up a simple profile they probably would all just do it that way.
interested??
right on!
I think that's the intro. We'll see. I'm having a lot of fun with this. Every time I explain it to smart people I figure out how to explain it in general.
@pfefferle --
after our conversation I realize it's time to write up an informal spec of how the network i'm envisioning will work.
i need it for the work i'm doing, and definitely will need it to explain how it works. and maybe get some ideas from people who review it.
@pfefferle -- do you still need examples?
The penalty for ABC and Disney should be we stop watching their stuff.
i would start by asking chatgpt
Thanks Matthias! I really enjoyed our talk. Lots to think about. 🤔
