that's because it's a screen shot of a blog post, and the prompting for the alt text came from mastodon when i pasted in the screen shot.
wordland doesn't have the ability to set alt text for images -- it should.
anyway glad you like wordland! it's still a work in progress as you can see. ;-)

but you can subscribe to the same feeds.
if you click on the XML icon at the top of the page, that will get you the OPML subscription list for the feeds, then just import them into your reader.
To people who do WordPress plug-ins -- have a look at the feedlandSocket repo. It sends notifications of news items to any subscriber, via websockets. News items are simple JSON, and contain information in the feed item, and system info. This makes it easy to stream news to a plug-in running in a WordPress site.

trackback is something i never liked in the blogosphere, because it was instantly a spam thing.
i remember the first time i saw that happening, i realized this isn't going to work.
i have a different model for discourse.
but i do like "likes" -- so that's a voluntary trackback -- and that makes more sense.
i guess i'm more confused about this today than i was the other day when I wrote that comment. 🙂
@pfefferle -- it's not a trackback because whole threads can develop.
be careful about these decisions because they will be hard to undo and may determine the character of the product.
i chose "wait for the reader," which makes me very much want to know what the reader will look like and how can we bridge it into the rss world which is where my new reader is running. ;-)
also feedland runs in that world too of course. you could be the hub for activitypub, not just a client.

I love markdown for RSS because it’s just enough html without the stuff every reader has to strip out.
The feeds we generate in WordLand have an element that contains the markdown text for the user’s writing.

I stop reading every piece that begins by wondering if the Dems or Repubs are "winning" the shutdown.
Anything the Dems can do that has anything to do with governing is a win for all of us, including the Repubs, but esp the Dems.
