To summarize @CIO's talk: LibreOffice's rollout is done. Currently migrating away from Ms Exchange and Outlook to Open-Xchange, should be done end of the month. Linux desktops are already in use. They're also actively funding opensource orgs #opensource #ocslux

Now listening to a talk by @nicolasvivant of the City of รchirolles. Apparently this small city close to Lyon is one of the most advanced when it comes to using #opensource software. ๐คฏ
They've migrated to Linux (ZorinOS?), use LibreOffice, Nextcloud etc. #osclux

Noooo I had to take a quick meeting and now I'm missing two interesting talks; one about governance and the other @rriemann 's talk on an EU operating system for the public sector โน๏ธ
Sorry Robert, please let us know how it went!

I did get a chance to listen to the excellent Omar Moshine, the Open Source Coordinator at the UN. ๐ฅ The UN strives to use open source solutions by default and does a lot of gov advocacy.

Right now my colleague Marieke Mol is going to talk about the European Digital Infrastructure Consortium (EDIC) ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
The EDIC is a collective of EU member states that work together on Digital Commons, like the #opensource workspace alternatives (MijnBureau, Opendesk, LaSuite) that we're all building. #osclux

@Gina EDIC seems to be a specific _kind_ of construction rather than a whole organisations, is that accurate?
Also, it seems to me like they have very little to do with open source stuff, and the three existing ones are focused on a) LLMs b) 'Digital Twins' and c) Crypto.
To be clear, it might be that I've misunderstood things, but that to me doesn't sound like something I'd want to advocate for joining, necessarily.

@pettter It started out as a network and just got established as an organisation. There's EDICs on all sorts of topics. This one is specifically for Open Source Digital Commons (such as workspace software, code platforms etc), any open source solutions that we can collaborate on at a European level.

Ok last one and then I'll stop spamming yall. There was a talk by Matthias Kuom from Cisero, which facilitates the adoption of IPCEI-CIS. This is an EU initiative to build a decentralized, federated and integrated EU cloud environment which would be really cool. ๐ฅ๐ฅ #osclux

@Gina interesting project! But, scrolling down their homepage to the end and what do I find? A fucking link to their X account ๐
