@invadersil @randahl
You might want to read the exact wording of the Budapest memorandum...@doboprobodyne @invadersil @randahl that's right, very few treaties are worth the paper they're written on, just a load of high-minded rhetoric full of false support and fake diplomacy, but I guess what it will do is ensure the rest of the world will never give up their nuclear weapons, no matter what these lying scummy political meat bags promise them...

In 1916, under President Woodrow Wilson, the United States signed the purchase of the Virgin Islands from Denmark, in a convention in which the United States recognised Denmark's right to the whole of Greenland.
Danish MP's of The Defence Committee will convene in the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility at 18:00 to discuss the defence of Greenland.

@randahl So, in the light of this document Rubio can be accused of treason ?
-
@randahl Do you think a document like this matters to Trump, who is riding roughshod over the rule of law? Historically, I think any Native American or First Nations people would tell you that U.S. government agreements are not worth the paper they're written on.
@byrnensorg @randahl Worthless piece of paper, just like the US Constitution. If the state institutions ignore them, then what?

@randahl Dynamite. Even though he'll just march over it roughshod. Because he is IT and IT can do as IT pleases because IT is God Emperor of MAGAland.
@Eetschrijver @randahl Completely off topic, but roughshod is the word I needed today . A lot of elderly people here in Amsterdam have discovered that it is safer to use something with a kind of spikes around their boots when walking outside this week. So they are "roughshod"! Thanks!!!

@randahl The real question is: how on earth it has not been removed yet? Someone must be surely fired for such negligence and replaced with proper fascist officer.

@randahl Liberal nonsense. That's never how fascists have worked. The truth is whatever justifies whatever they want to do in any given moment. You can't argue with them.
You can't fight them this way.

@randahl There's one safeguard that can be placed, and maybe it will work. If Denmarka ASAP signs with a private enterprise (possibly setup just for that purpose) a deal which grants that enterprise full unlimited rights to access all minerals, fossil fuels, and others. Of course that enterprise would do nothing with them, but the whole deal would function as a 'tag', making it harder for trump to promise pieces of Greenland to US companies.
