Inversion Sunrise, Scottish Highlands (2024).
The recent cold snaps in the UK have made me think back to some excellent mornings a couple years ago in the Highlands where I explored a rewilding glen in inversion conditions. The glowing light and sub zero temperatures in the birch lined valley made for stunning photographic opportunities.

@murraylivingston quite pretty, although seeing anything from the UK makes me slightly sad since I know about the 1% of families who own 50% of the land there.

@thesinkingbelle yes it's true, that being said, scotland ironically has some of the world's best public access rights under the land reform act. "right to roam", or more accurately right to responsible access, means you can explore some pretty amazing places completely free!

@murraylivingston This is an amazing image, Murray. The light is exquisite, and the whole scene feels so soft, quiet, and delicate. Very relaxing.

@murraylivingston indeed, I believe i'd heard about that. hopefully more can be done to push further reforms through in the future.
heard all this through this really great interview with the author of a book on the subject, recommended if you want to hear more about the current challenges

@thesinkingbelle Yes i've read some of guy's writing and particularly enjoyed the lost rainforests of britain — he's definitely highly political though (to the point of potential bias in some cases imo. there's always nuance).
