@mos_8502 snap is particularly deranged, though. It goes out of its way to be a toxic system citizen.

@swelljoe I don’t mind the “app store” UI thing, but there’s no good reason it can’t just be a front end to Apt. We had package management solved ages ago.

@mos_8502 I have to maintain a bunch of actual deb packages for my employer, because the snap version does shit like this. chromium is one of them (and not even for this specific reason, it's fucked in other ways, too), this is just an ARM dev box and I haven't made a regular chromium deb for it yet, but snap is here to remind me why I have to.
