Watching a ton of Rube Goldberg machines lately for simple mechanical interaction inspo. This is how I plan to do boost pads in the game, which I feel makes an abstract game concept into something tangible and literally impactful. There’s an endless well to draw from with these sorts of simple physics interactions. It’s not a “physics game” physics game, but it’s definitely a physics game in its own way #gamedev

@aeva thanks! Yep, ballpoint pen is my favorite drawing implement for sketching. It lets me get ideas down quickly and I can just kinda feel out how rendered I want things

@Hypnagogist awesome :D that is my preference as well. I recently switched back to ballpoint-and-sketchbook after using an e-ink tablet for a year or three and it's an interesting adjustment. Anyways you have a very well practiced hand :)

@aeva I’ve always been tempted by an e-ink tablet, they look really cool! I always find myself bouncing off drawing on a screen, but I’d like to try one

@Hypnagogist the one I have is a ReMarkable. the digitizer is alright, you have to change the nibs often or the tip stops reliably lining up with the page. the thing that got me really fed up with it though is they keep changing the UI, and it's hard to get stuff off of it. it is surprisingly good for drawing, but you really have to treat it as its own medium.
