Is the Risorgimento an important part of Canadian history?

@evan Mainly? Otherwise, what's the point of it being Canadian?
If you take a course on quantum mechanics, classical mechanics won't be an important part of it — but it'd be referenced and compared to.
You can't just pile everything together — sometimes it's important to focus.
as a historian I disagree heh.
I don't have a strong opinion about the Italy thing, but ..
look up the New Imperial History school of thought which discusses how economic and population forces work at great distances affecting and defining local history in ways which were previously ignored. it's a whole thing. -

@evan No, but… many of its ramifications are so it makes sense to know more about it to know more about Canada.
Could also have answered Yes, but… not in the intuitive sense of “being a part of”, because everything is so interconnected that any major event with global ramifications is a part of the entire worlds history so not sure the definition is very useful colloquially?

@evan So an evasive answer would be
“as much as it is part of Brazilian history”

@villasbc could it be both? I mean, the War of the Triple Alliance is part of many countries' history.
