@luca ne approfitto...avrei bisogno di self hostare una seconda istanza yunohost. Come funziona in questo caso proxmox? Tu hai più di una VM raggiungibile da fuori? Hai un reverse proxy? Grazie

@ilarioq @luca Apologies for writing in English, my Italian is horrible.
You can have more than one VM on a Proxmox machine, even if they are running the same OS.
To have them both accessible from the Internet, you'll need either a reverse proxy running on a machine on your network, Cloudflare Tunnels (or similar), or a Pangolin instance running on a VPS.

You can have more than one VM on a Proxmox machine, even if they are running the same OS.
To have them both accessible from the Internet, you'll need either a reverse proxy running on a machine on your network, Cloudflare Tunnels (or similar), or a Pangolin instance running on a VPS.

proxmox (prima usavo virtualbox), mi serve per avere (ancora) più computer a casa, quello, mi vergogno a dirlo, è il mobile basso di fianco alla tv.
Non tutte le vm (sono un po vecchia scuola, non amo i container lxc) dentro il mio proxmox hanno bisogno di essere esposte su internet, o sul web.
Alcune sono servizi locali.
Per dire, una è una installazione di win10, una è un proxy squid locale, una è pihole.In pratica
- sul router di casa apro determinate porte, verso determinati ip di rete locale che possono anche essere su proxmox (--> per esempio il server per collegarsi in vpn da fuori)- sul router le porte 80/443 mandano a un server nginx locale centrale, che a seconda del vhost/dominio interrogato --> redirige il traffico sui vari ip locali
Come del resto immagino faccia un server yunohost ospitato in cloud se cominci a installarci sopra mastodon, pixelfed, nextcloud

The best way I'd describe Pangolin is self-hosted Cloudflare Tunnels. You need to point two DNS entries on your domain to it (pangolin and *), and it will use wireguard tunnels to make any other subdomain available to your machines.
A reverse proxy might be a bit easier to handle, especially if you already have experience with it.

by the way, not everything I have on the lan must be internet facing, or web facing 🙂
Think of the old tv media player, or the old nas, with outdated interfaces
For web services like mastodon, nextcloud or whatever -> nginx
For stuff using other port, no issues.
For stuff that you want to be reachable just from you, a nice openvpn or wireguard and you are home. -

Can someone explain to me the logic behind a nationwide nurse strike protesting people getting shot? I feel like I must be missing something, because normally a strike is meant as leverage against the organization most impacted by the strike. In the case of nurse strikes, the companies that own the hospitals are the target, with the demands being better pay or better hours or better equipment or whoever.
But nurses striking because people are getting shot by the government doesn't feel like there's any leverage at all.
What am I missing?
