Today begins my three day water blessings of the plants. I'm frugal with water, do a lot of natives, and chop and drop for mulch. Between the heat, leaf blowers, and the fireworks, the grime on the leaves is a lot for any plant to bear. So I harvest today and give everything a gentle rain like soak. Always early morning to not confuse the insects before they get active. Tomorrow is day 2 while I'm masked up. For all the reasons, no more fireworks#gardening

My early season green beans delivered! Neither chill nor drought nor ravaging wildlife (that mowed about 3/4 of what I’d planted to the ground 2 weeks in) can keep a good bean down, apparently. My first real harvest of the year and I am so excited. #gardening

Almost overnight, we have a transformation of greenhouse space. This is why getting the date right for planting out the tomatoes, peppers, etc. is so important around here.
