Just spent way too long wrestling with a 400-line pf.conf and asymmetrical routing. 😵‍💫The culprit? Classic rule ordering. A slightly too broad rule (with quick) near the top was happily catching traffic and creating states without the reply-to option before my intended rule could even look at it.The packets were flowing, just... not back the right way. @Larvitz You must tell in your article about Alt-[0-9] (really Alt-n where n is a number) feature when you talk about ALT-F, ALT-B and ALT-. , CTRL-W and maybe more ...It allow you to modify the target. Move n words before / after o select the n th argument, removing n words ... Great post!!

My two FTTC connections are down, so I'm currently on a slow 4G failover.The instance was unreachable.I quickly deployed nginx on an external host and set up a reverse proxy to my home network over 4G.The instance is now reachable.Profit.#IT #SysAdmin #ISolveProblems

@Michał "rysiek" Woźniak · 🇺🇦 I'm a sysadmin myself, so I can call them tools 😇But agree: at the moment these agentic tools aren't good enough to be trusted with massive, complex tasks. But I would be surprised if that would remain the situation for long.

@rysiek this also means that no cirque de soleil trapeze act of mcp servers, llms checking other llms output, ralph wiggum model, openclaw bots or other 'stuff on top' fixes the core issue. im actively working on a con talk on this topic, so your good press today is getting a hat tip in my slides :D

@_elena I laugh at your ‘trigger warning for sysadmins’ but also sadly know why you have to. I do hope it triggers some in a way that helps developers empathize with ‘normal’ people more, and work on sanding off more rough edges.Thanks again for your posts. Keychron K8 Pro with Cherry MX purple (super heavy tactile)Second Keychron K8 Pro (currently no switches)GMMK Pro 2 with Holy Panda switchesKeychron Q3 with Voyager V2 switchesNuPhy Air75 v2 with Moss switchesI generally tend towards tactile to super tactile and don't optimize for acoustics as much. Typing feel is way more important to me.
