    Biked to Alewife to pick up car. Had a few possible routes sketched out, but trying to navigate phone maps and streets in the biting windchill was a bit much. Went with one I'd memorized. Passed by a ghost bike on Mass ave: 💔 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_bike#BikeTooter

    Almost forgot: rounded corner on the single track to find a porcupine standing in middle of trail. I’m fumbling with camera trying to get a photo when I hear “galloping" sounds coming from behind and that's when I remember … there's a dog on the ride. “Roo! Leave it!” I yell as porcupine heads for the hills and Roo looks like she's headed for a face full of quills. Roo stops, looks back at me, looks at porcupine, and luckily stays in place as it waddled off.Never did get that photo. #BikeTooter #MTB

    On trip planning list “maybe get new tire”, which never happened. After 250 miles the (tubeless) tire sprung a small leak. Topped off pressure with electric pump, sealant did its job, then 2 miles from Harper’s Ferry it became a bigger hole. Applied my first “bacon strip” (sticky plug) and finished day. It held overnight and a few miles into yesterday’s 60 mile ride, but needed topping off. Replaced plug, which worked better. I got a tube in town, but stuck to topping of air instead. 1/2 🧵#BikeTooter
