I've been building an RSS reader for the past year. No unread counts, no inbox to clear. Just a river that flows at its own pace.
Today it's live on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. I wrote about everything that went into it.

@tg I thought about it for a bit and bought it based on your article, your willingness to engage with the community and I wanted to support the development of the types of apps I want to see more of. Itās beautiful. I hope it is as successful as this initial phase seems it will be.

@tg as soon as I finished reading the beautiful sales pitch, I knew what I needed to do.
Immediately bought it, immediately cancelled my subscription to Reeder (still a great app), as soon as I saw you supported self hosted reeders, I knew I made the right choice.

@tg just bought this, it's really interesting! a couple questions:
- do my settings sync between iphone and Mac? I tried setting a feed to "News" but then the setting didn't seem to carry over
- sometimes when I press "Edit Source" in the app it takes 5-10 seconds for the "edit" dialog to appear, is there any way I can speed it up?
- if i tagged a source as "news" is it normal that I see items from that source from 13 hours ago?@b0rk hello! thank you!
- yes, they should sync. there was a race condition happening with icloud that presented with some of the issues you're having, but the fix is ready and should be released today by apple.

- no, i think that is probably due to the settings not syncing (and in some cases saving) right (race condition things), i'll make sure this works appropriately as well. -

@tg I absolutely love it! The concept is very good for reducing FOMO, especially when on vacation.
It has a mature feature set and feels great to use.I want to use it more, but Iām currently using Inoreader. Any plans to add it as a sync service?

@tg It looks like the workflow is from the perspective of a person releasing individual entries on the go. I usually skim over article topics, read what is interesting and then release everything leftover unread. Just a wish.

One point I would have added is that, while Mastodon announced this Share button a while back, a āpureā ActivityPub-based way to expose share URLs and similar features exists in FEP-3b86 (https://fediverse.codeberg.page/fep/fep/3b86/) and has also been gaining prominence recently (c.f. the list of implementations).
For example, ActivityPub for WordPress published its v8.0.0 today, which includes new āLikeā and āShareā buttons that use this proposal.

@fediversereport@mastodon.social I'd say a protocol handler would be one small step in making this better handled.
The friction with a global "share to the fediverse" button is the instance chooser. Not knowing what your home instance is is a major sticking point.
A protocol handler could allow you to skip this step, assuming you have an app that has registered against it.
Otherwise, yes, the same fallback would need to continue to exist (enter your home server! blah blah)

I am convinced we are on the verge of the first "AI agent worm". This looks like the closest hint of it, though it isn't it quite itself: an attack on a PR agent that got it to set up to install openclaw with full access on 4k machines https://grith.ai/blog/clinejection-when-your-ai-tool-installs-another
But, the agents installed weren't given instructions to *do* anything yet.
Soon they will be. And when they are, the havoc will be massive. Unlike traditional worms, where you're looking for the typically byte-for-byte identical worm embedded in the system, an agent worm can do different, nondeterministic things on every install, and carry out a global action.
I suspect we're months away from seeing the first agent worm, *if* that. There may already be some happening right now in FOSS projects, undetected.
