I've been building an RSS reader for the past year. No unread counts, no inbox to clear. Just a river that flows at its own pace.
Today it's live on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. I wrote about everything that went into it.
@tg the new update is so much better! Current is already helping me read local news without being overwhelmed for the first time in a while and it's great
a couple of feature requests if you're taking them:
- could swiping left on the Voices page mark items as read (the same way it does on the River page?)
- I would love to have a way to mute a feed permanently, for some reason I don't like to unsubscribe from feeds in case I'm interested in them again one day -

as for features, yes, both are on the list. which reminds me I need to post that list somewhere so people know!

Bought and installed on my phone and iPad immediately, now it’s MacBook’s turn :) So far it’s all going great.

@tg I'm really enjoying Current. One thing I would like is a way to either mute a synced feed permanently—I have some things like the AWS news feed which I only want to look at in Newsblur during the work day, not when I'm relaxing—or perhaps segregate them to _only_ be shown in a current but not the main river.

@acdha this is definitely on the planning desk right now, trying to wrangle how to make this work for the most amount of people. something coming here soon though, it feels important to do

After stepping away from RSS for about a year, I recently decided to give it another go. The app caught my attention and since purchasing it, I’ve been genuinely impressed.

@sinituulia this was one of the first posts I received after our instance went under some serious maintenance work, and it was a very welcome confirmation that it was working again at its main job of delivering cat pictures :D

Well, I have to share this thought. Maybe it is a daydream but someone has to follow that path, else nothing will change for sure.
That's the reason for my indie tech choices in years, because the tech savvy has to do that.
