    Drove to Alewife station outside Boston and biked to hotel while the rest of family took subway. It was 23F(-5C) with a windchill of 4, didn’t see a lot of bikers out. I got a chance to ride the Somerville Community Path to the Science Museum, then along the Dr. Paul Dudley White Bike path on the Charles. Even the roads I biked had decent bike lanes and signage.#BikeTooter #Boston

    2 hours and 14,000 steps later I've snowshoe groomed about 3 miles of single track for fat biking.

    A lot of steps (half steps) are needed to get a decent line on top of granite spines. I rode this yesterday before the fresh snow and the lines were a mess, took a few passes to clean it all up. Sometimes I'll make a B line, sometimes they're on their own. #FatBiking #BikeTooter

    Tonight's cycling excitement:Ripping along the bikepath at a decent pace (30+km/h) in the dark when all of a sudden there's a clunk and a great rawr from the back wheel and I see sparks getting flown forward past me.I stopped and jumped off very quickly.... and noticed the bike was not in fact on fire or any such thing.Investigate with torch...The chunky plastic reflector attached to one of the spokes had broken free and lodged itself crosswise near the hub; so for the few brief seconds it took me to react and stop it was getting thrashed against the frame with bits flying off it and getting brightly reflected in my headlight.Pulled the reflector loose and chucked it in my handlebar bag, then continued on as usual.Further inspection shows no actual damage (besides the reflector), but faaark, that frightened me when it happened.#BikeTooter
