    Piccola nota tecnica per chi mi chiede “ma quanto costa snowfan.it?”#snowfan.it non gira su un semplice VPS.Gira su un VDS.Che differenza c’è, detta facile-facile?#VPSrisorse “condivise” in modo più elasticoottimo per tantissimi progettidi solito più economicose il vicino di server fa festa, a volte si sente un po’ il rumore#VDSrisorse più “dedicate” e prevedibiliperformance più stabiliideale quando vuoi spingere con servizi belli attivi (tipo una community che posta, media, notifiche, ecc.)meno “condominio”, più “casa tua con le chiavi in mano”Quindi sì, snowfan.it è un progetto self-hosted serio, con una base un po’ più muscolosa del classico “VPSino da battaglia”.Quanto costa?Abbastanza da farmi sorridere quando funziona tutto al primo colpo,e da farmi controllare i grafici quando qualcuno posta una valanga di foto.😅 https://snowfan.it/about@addio-big-tech@fediverso #selfhosting

    VPNs aren’t all built the same. Many of you know this, and some of you don’t. For the latter, here’s a really informative report on a number of them. The “VPN Transparency Report 2025.”The TLDR is on page 50, but I recommend at least skimming all of it.
