@Broadfork What a great colour. You will enjoy working in there after all the work.

@Hesperalis When I get the chance the unpainted parts will get a lick of the green or berry red paint the previous tenant left behind.
Iโve almost finished sorting things out and stowing everything away inside. Iโll have trays of seedlings on benches alongside the windows so itโll be a glorified cold frame.

@Broadfork This made me smile! This year, more than ever (it seems) I yearn for the arrival of spring.

@richrollgardener My next door plot neighbour has a daffodil bed under the apple tree and they were looking glorious in the extra sunshine.
My little clump is rocking the less is more motif. No daffs grew there last year and I didnโt plant any bulbs. Miraculous.

@Broadfork all that work has paid off. I'm on catch up duties. Priority is seed sowing second batch of hardy annuals and planting out the autumn sown plants. The home garden will have to wait until the lawn dries out a bit. I was surprised at how much growth the perennials had put on. The cat has been having a great time rolling in catmint.

@Hesperalis The garden here is being left until last after too many wet days. Perennials are doing well here too but so are the snails.
Iโm already in spinning plates mode. Iโve barely done a fraction of what Iโd usually do by now but time is precious. More soil block making and seed sowing this week.
But thereโs no rush as Iโve less greenhouse space now and my shady plot will be a while before it fully wakes up.

@Broadfork it's a manic time of the year. The good news is that because we use no dig and cover cropping approaches, we dont have to wait for sodden soil to dry out. Feeling rather smug about that. ๐

@Hesperalis Always! I heard the first grump from someone today about how claggy it is to dig. I walked on chuckling to myself โnot for me it isnโtโ.
My transplanted broad beans went in last week no problem in a cover killed ryegrass bed.
The cover crops have done their job. Iโll cover kill the other beds now ready for planting in April/May.
The plotโs handled the wet very well this winter. Iโll do some water infiltration tests of the beds to confirm but thereโs no obvious problem areas.

@Broadfork That's a fine looking shed you have there! I'm always jealous of people that have sheds / greenhouses made from repurposed windows and doors

@laurenheywood Thank you itโs made of and fitted out with recycled or repurposed stuff other people no longer wanted.
Itโs been a year in the making but I never knew what, when and where Iโd find the things to go towards it. I was overjoyed when I found the now green windows on freecycle.

@Broadfork It looks fab! I'd like to do a project like that at some point in the future.
