    The #CloudFlare outage follows a pattern we have seen before. Was it Google last time?1. Generate an exciting config file2. Auto-deploy the file everywhere3. Everything everywhere crashesAll these big systems want to be able to react quickly to certain types of events, so they probably all have this failure mode baked in. Because security! Or some such."Obviously" the files deployed this way "should" be validated carefully. And there "should" be canaries and staged roll-outs... Should.

    The centralisation of internet infrastructure is concerning to me. Having 20% of the internet behind one CDN and 70% on US big tech cloud providers.... not goodEurope really needs to get tech independence from the US. We need multiple European cloud providers and a restriction on the use of AWS/GCP/Azure for government and public funded services#CloudFlare #CloudComputing

    Mamma mia... Oggi Cloudflare è morto senza valido motivo alcuno, e quindi ohhhhh cazzarola se 'ssi gode!!! 🍾😁😹🎆Tutti i siti di merda, come ICS PUNTO COM (...assieme purtroppo a siti non di merda, ma comunque in mano a sysadmin poco lungimiranti) sono non raggiungibili da tantissimi quarti d'ora... e chissà se, magari, la cosa si protrarrà per ore...!!! 🤣E certo, purtroppo sono giù anche siti utili, ma niente di irreparabile... per esempio OK, ChatGPT è down, ma DeepSeek no (...e ancora una volta la supremazia della Cina rispetto agli Stati Uniti è dimostrata). Fa però davvero scompisciare vedere che un mese fa è esploso AWS, oggi esplode Clownflare... 😝in generale, tutta l'infrastruttura dell'Internet centralizzato e proprietario mostra sempre di più le sue intrinseche fragilità... e io, che mi hosto (quasi) tutto sul serverino a casa mia, senza proxare mai il mio traffico per Cloudflare, e nonostante ciò ho comunque un uptime del 99% per maggior parte della roba, SEMPLICEMENTE CI GODO!!!
