@alexisbushnell @pwaring I'm not sure, quoting is very new so I don't know how it interacts with the filters.Do you have an example of a toot that got through and which keyword(s) should have triggered a filter?

@alice Make failing die rolls as interesting as succeeding. If some information or task is important to advancing the story, don’t let players miss it by failing a die roll. Let them succeed but with some consequence — “You are able to pick the lock, but your tools make enough noise that you think the guards have been alerted.” (This is advice borrowed from game designer Robin D. Laws.)

@TazPoltorak @Bfordham some toy machines cheat by only being able to make a chain stitch instead of the lockstitch used by modern¹ machines: those aren't really sewing machines, they can't be used to follow instructions designed for sewing machines and I'd recommend staying away from them even as a “starting” machine, because they really aren't one.the main issue being that the chain stitch unravels, and using it to make functional garments will require a lot more handsewing and different techniques that those used today.as the first sewing machine ever built, they were time saver when sewing meters and meters of ruffles on a 1850s dress, when you were used to sew 1840s dresses by hand, but really, sewing machine technology has moved on :)¹ i.e. since the second half of the 19th century :D

@me I wonder how the jacket would look with two bands of contrasting colour bias tape sewn (by hand, if I had to do it) around the cuff seam.but I'm not sure it would last long, if the rip is because it's a high friction area, maybe you'd need something stronger than bias tape
