- First of all it was live streamed, so this is all public info. If you have doubts, watch it yourself.
- It was in front of nearly every major military figure. The audience looked unhappy, but there was also absolutely no pushback.
- Right off the bat they announced they would be changing standards which have been too "DEI" focused, the military would change its standards to be focused on having white and male members -

Both Trump and Hegseth said that if you weren't comfortable, you should resign. Trump also beforehand said that they'd be talking to heads of the military and if they thought they didn't align with their vision, they'd remove them.
- They said that targets would be both international and domestic, and that the military should be expecting to fight a war *at home*, in American cities. -

- Trump also said that the military should feel more free to shoot people who showed resistanceAnd that's basically my summary. But what does it mean?

Right now Trump and company are effectively trying to pull a complete grab of power. They've already got so much, but now they're trying to gain complete control over a military and make it white and male, and turning it inward against US residents.
They're also hoping to use this shutdown to take control of other federal departments by purging them of left-leaning staff.
They're trying to grab total dictatorship.
Is there room for hope? Well..

It means that they're attempting a fascist coup.
Doesn't mean they'll succeed, though (as some pointed, they can't even take down Jimmy Kimmel).Annoying and insulting all the top brass at once may not be the best way to succeed at a fascistic coup, actually.

The good news is that if there's pushback, they are pushing way too hard here, they are *massively* overplaying their hands.
However, I'm not sure I am seeing the pushback we should be seeing to stop this.
And a lot of that is that people just aren't hearing about how bad things are. Information isn't getting it out there, because they've so successfully captured media.

There's a real possibility of this failing and backfiring:
- The military top brass clearly isn't *happy* about it
- They've overplayed their hand recently, see KimmelBut if we don't talk about it, if there isn't resistance, they're going to get everything. That's the track we're on. They're capturing everything left.
Every alarm should be going off right now. This is serious shit.

@threkk Yes, this is the most telegraphed coup d'etat of all time.
