It shows me and my brothers on my way back from the south of #Gaza to the north, driving along the coastal road — it's called Al-Rashid Road, the main seaside road in Gaza.
The cost of transport is much cheaper this way, people aren’t really going from the south to the north anymore.
At one point, you can see a turn to the right that’s a newly paved road, recently created and surfaced by the Israeli army. It wasn’t there before. -

At one point, you can see a turn to the right that’s a newly paved road, recently created and surfaced by the Israeli army. It wasn’t there before.This road now connects the eastern side of #Gaza (near the Israeli border) directly to the western coastal area.
The road we drove through in the video is the same route the Israeli army used in previous invasions — from the east of Gaza all the way to the sea. They built and paved it for military purposes, especially during the times when they occupied the Gaza shore.
I just wanted you to know exactly what you're seeing: it’s not just any road. It carries a lot of weight, history, and meaning. -

@SolenedeM @mohshbair Je me posais la même question et j’ai trouvé cet article de la BBC. Apparemment c’est très stratégique pour les déplacements rapides de l’armée israélienne, et il y a une inquiétude sérieuse qu’Israel utilise cette route comme nouvelle frontière de la bande de Gaza après l’invasion de tout ce qui se trouve au nord de la route.

@thoboumon Merci ! Et il faut se rendre compte qu'il n'y a UNE seule route qui va du nord au sud (et inversement). Une route pour 2 millions de personnes et qui est bombardée régulièrement. C'est urgent. C'est urgentissime. @mohshbair

@matz @tizianomattei @Uilebheist l'Ungheria sta nello spazio Schengen quindi non dovrebbero esserci controlli alle frontiere stradali.
Basterà non accennare mai né alla politica né all'omosessualità...
Comunque è uno di quei posti che ho escluso dai miei orizzonti turistici (posti che continuano ad aumentare purtroppo).

Better to have many small ones to reduce pressure periodically. Been through a lot of big ones, 7.2 and 6.8 were most memorable, 3km from the epicenter of both, one week apart from each other with hundreds of lesser ones in between/after.
Watching the ground liquify in the rainforest, then seeing wild horses and every animal from the forest tearing ass down the streets, running down to the beach only to watch crevasses burst from the sand as if on a glacier falling to pieces, massive waves from the ocean careening over the breakers into the bay, then the coral reef lifting out of the water - the scale of it all, the unremittent energy that cares not for any lifeform. All is meaningless in the face of this unstoppable geologic pressure. Tsunami sirens blaring, blaring, blaring.
Jump into the jeep, as quickly as safely affords, head up into the solid hills - not the ones which suffer landslides in the wet season, as far away from the water line as possible, jugs of emergency water and medications tossed in the back seat, blazing hot sun ripping through beautiful stark white clouds - the azure beauty of the heavens streaking through, cobalt turning to grey haze into winds, then the rush of cold Pacific air blasting its way upwards into the hills... a layer of fog sets in. Nothingness. Complete silence. No animal sounds, no car sounds, all ambient audible sound muffled by the dense vapors swirling through the Cloud Forest I had driven into.
