Hey #freebsd #bhyve users!I'm trying to test draid virtually for #openzfsmastery, because nobody's gonna give me a shelf of 60 disks to play with. I set everything up like:disk35_name="disk35"disk35_type="ahci-hd"disk35_dev="sparse-zvol"Seems that if I have 35 ahci-hd entries, disk0 through disk34, bhyve and freebsd works. At disk35, the host panics on boot.Is this expected with bhyve? Or does FreeBSD need a special tweak with 36 disks?

If choosing between bsd.ad or unix.ad - which one would you prefer?

@SamuraiSakura was using my old 2011 27’ iMac until six months ago when it started shutting off suddenly. I absolutely love that machine and would continue using it if I could fix it. Still haven’t given up on it. I also have a working 2010 MacBook Air 11 inch which works as a music control center.

Found that #NVIDIA released new #Beta Branch of their #drivers 595.45.04.For #FreeBSD: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/details/265311/#Linux counterparts: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/details/265309/Note that this won't appear in #FreeBSD #ports, as it's "Beta"."-devel" variants in ports are for whichever the newer of "New Feature Branch (NFB)" or "Production Branch (PB)" of drivers.Investigating for future NFB or PB upgrades, FreeBSD native driver ports should work by overriding version as usual.But Linux counterparts (installed by overriding version of x11/linux-nvidia-libs{-devel}) need some fixes.Beware! This version does NOT work on pre-Turing generations of GPUs, just as 590 series.

We can look at the end result rather than solely focusing on the best way to get there. Yesterday I advised someone to continue keeping Word docs on their desktop rather than organising them elsewhere, because their current system is working (for now) and any changes at this point would lead to overwhelm. One step at a time! #digital #productivity
