For the record, I continue to love the experience on #Mastodon. Every so often I go to one of the Other Places and the contrast is so stark - so much shouting, so much noise. Everyone seeming to want you to be cross with everyone else for clicks

@tomstafford @clive @mastodonmigration IMHO Big Tech social platforms have trained people for decades to desire to build a personal brand.
So the discourse is all « me me me pay attention to me, I want more followers more likes more comments. Pay attention to meeee, more more more » … (this applies to the culture of Bluesky too IMHO).
Conversely, the Fediverse is delightfully collectivist and anti-brand… and I LOOOOOVE that ❤️
