Gioco la carta magia #AiutoFediversico .Mi servirebbe una #dockingStation per il mio portatile, un #ThinkPad #T480, compatibile con #GNU / #Linux. Ora, ho già avuto modo di constatare che quelle #DisplayLink sono da evitare come la morte, per via di driver e carichi di lavoro spropositati sulla CPU, quindi vorrei puntare su quelle #thunderbolt verticali, per risparmiare spazio. Mi confermate che possono funzionare potenzialmente tutte o danno problemi? Consigli?#Tecnologia #Informatica

I modifed the M-x Calendar so that it displays 2 decimals instead of 1 and displays red and blue colors for week ends like the japanese calendar. What's the best option for an #OpenSource phone right now? I've been considering getting the latest Pixel and putting GrapheneOS on it. I have looked at #Linux phones but they seem to be lacking in hardware.

I am getting really frustrated with #VSCode and #JetBrains stuff because they are slow and (especially the latter) full of unhelpful and obtrusive LLM stuff.

@michalfita I don't want to take over. I want to offer a place to those who can't or don't want to use github because of Microsoft's policies or because they see the potential disaster and boycott MS (like myself).And if MS turns evil, maybe the alternative registry could make things a little less painful.

@Neblib @jcphoenix it does, but based on the fact that the source of the mirrors was the broken item, and now all the downstream mirrors are syncing, is causing load and availability problems. At least, that's how I'm reading the post on the site anyway.I don't know how the mirror setup works for ubuntu, but to me, seems weird that incorrect sync causing the mirrors to break seems like a bad setup. I thought mirrors used to just be rsync replicas, guess not now?

@miqueiasklippel 7 years now. Dual booted for about 18 years (and used Ubuntu on my VPS for about 15) before finally making the jump from MacOS.Spent a year transitioning by switching to cross platform apps on mac, then swapping OS. My hackintosh was tri-boot before, retained Windows for Gaming but that barely gets used these days.Gnome is so much calmer as a desktop, I couldn't go back now.

@maskedwitch /me waves the secret pinephone daily driver¹ salute :DI'm using cellular service rather than wifi more than half of the time, and I feel that these days it's way more reliable than it used to be: lately the main reason why I didn't have data service has been because I had not paid for it (ehm... :D ), or disabled international roaming because I live close to a border and then traveled internationally (double ehm...)to be fair, I never use it for phone calls, only data, so I don't know whether receiving calls is reliable(and I suspend a lot, because battery and not wanting notifications anyway)¹ for values of “daily” where I don't use a phone every day
