Big Tech is getting more and more involved in politics. During the last US election, Crypto bros spent more than $100 million on the election, which got some of them out of jail. Now Big Tech is active again, this time with focus on AI, as reported in this Washington Post article. It is time to take a stand against companies that behave this way.#politics #AI #elections #technology #crypto #Browser #Linux https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2025/12/19/tech-super-pacs-midterms-ai/

#Mozilla promotes the head of #Firefox to become the #CEO of Mozilla, and everyone loses their shit. 1. He said some people like #AI and some don't. 2. All #browser #OEMs are all in on AI.3. Isn't this just Mozilla copying #Google, that turned out well. 4. Contrary to popular belief, Firefox has done some really good things in the past year. 5. People will always find a way to moan about Mozilla and by extension Firefox.

To restore the original hyper*text* idea, I desire a #browser plugin that allows me to- mark sites that try to dictate or impede my reading experience, including by pop-ups of any kind- also mark paywalled links and links that are not worth clicking for other reasons (use of "genAI" ...)- add warning sings to links to these sites to avoid clicking and wasting time- add a per-site menu: "block", "noscript", "add client script to suppress nonsense" etc.- share this information with peers
