Makes me wonder if anyone setting bead on a tubeless fat bike tire has tried this "one simple trick".

@jerzone I had a tire blow off the rim in my garage once while I was in the room above and I thought a bomb had gone off. You only have to learn that lesson once before you start double-checking pressure ratings.

@jerzone an excuse for doing that trick seems like the only real advantage of tubeless. Can't say I'm interested in hauling a compressor around with me against the possibility of a flat, I've got places to go, things to do.

@dr2chase The bead setting is typically only done on initial setup, after pulling tire off the rim.

@jerzone I tried it on my Moonlander, it didn’t work. I couldn’t get the tire to maintain proper shape, along with needing extra hands to do everything else.

@dr2chase As for tubeless advantages, at least for me it has meant no flats for the decade or so that I've been running it on mountain bikes, fat bike, and gravel bike.

@lritter @lvk As somewhat of a recommender systems expert, this is…a lot harder than you think without centralized interaction data. It may be possible, but it’s not a project I’d take on without a lot of funding.

@lritter the order doesn't seem to be sequential, so I assume there is some kind of popularity heuristic, but idk.

@lritter I share this because I just found it and figure you might find it useful or interesting, and not in any way a defense of peertube (a thing I am largely unfamiliar with)
I just discovered that you can hit search on the peer tube "browse content" search engine with no query and it gives you Content (presumably to Browse), the quality of which seems to be reasonably above the baseline of the logged-out youtube front page
